Nail House

Before there was a bottle bill, before there was a three bin recycling system, before it was cool for people to care about all that, there was the Haight Ashbury Community Recycling center.  Begun in a school yard in the 1970’s by a radical, left wing fireman, Ed Dunn, the center helped influence and shape the environmental culture of San Francisco, California and the nation one bottle and can at a time.
